Hands-on Conservation: Pond Dakota Park (Bloomington)

The 2013 City of Bloomington invasive species removal - volunteer event will occur at Pond Dakota Park on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 9am to noon.

The event is being coordinated by Bloomington Park & Recreation staff.

Volunteers should meet at the Pond Dakota Park at 9am for instructions on buckthorn identification and removal/control methods.  Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes, jeans, long-sleeve shirts, eye protection, work gloves, and dress in layers. 

Some cutting and removal tools will be provided.  Tolls to bring if you have them:  bow saw, hand saw, lopping shears and hand shears.  Be sure to label your tools with your name and phone number.  Do not bring chain saws as the general public is not permitted to operate chain saws in Bloomington parks.
