Sustainability Policy in Bloomington:

Sustainability Planning in the City of Bloomington

What is a "Sustainable Bloomington"?  a community that maintains or enhances economic opportunity and community well-being while protecting and restoring the natural environment upon which people and economies depend.

Sustainability meets the economic, social and environmental needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The City of Bloomington is beginning the strategic planning update process, called Forward 2040.  This is a great opportunity for residents to provide input in the process on what you want for the future of Bloomington.

More info can be found here:  https://www.bloomingtonmn.gov/forward-204

We need your help in showing public support for:

1. urging the City to form a "Sustainability" Commission to conduct research, vet initiatives/projects, and provide recommendations to the City Council.
2. urging the City to seek out Sustainability Expertise (technical and educational) available through resident experts and public agencies that can provide technical services and potential funding to the City.

Will you send your City Council representatives a note?  Find their contact info here:
