Help Preserve the Shore & Beach – Please Donate $22 for ’22

Most members have enjoyed the Bush Lake Chapter Izaak Walton League’s beautiful beach area.  You may have noticed some erosion in the sand beach between the parking area and the lake.

The long driveway to our beach area acts as a funnel for stormwater runoff during rain events.  At the bottom of this funnel, the concentrated stormwater runoff flows like a river through the beach area, which can erode away sand. 

If some of this stormwater runoff off is effectively diverted off of the driveway, into a rain garden for infiltrating into the soil, the beach sand can be protected from being washed out.     

Our Chapter intends to apply for some grant funding to help with the costs of this drainage diversion and infiltration system, but we need to provide a cash match for these potential grant funds. 

We are asking for your donation for this Shoreland Protection & Runoff Reduction Project on the Chapter property.  Your donation would help to preserve our Conservation Legacy and allow us to continue providing environmental programming and scholarships for our local community and beyond.
