Bush Lake Chapter volunteers needed to staff our Chapter info table and help out with the event.  Contact Gregg if you can help out.  We will be distributing Salt Watch citizen science monitoring info to event attendees.  

Chapter Tabling Shifts:

9:30am-noon - Shift 1: setup at 9:30, staff booth

noon - 2:30pm - Shift 2: staff booth, pack up at 2pm

Celebrate the 26th annual ice harvest at Richardson Nature Center! Experience the adventures of Minnesota’s hardy ice harvesters. If the pond ice is thick enough, see blocks of ice cut out of the pond with a vintage ice saw and pull an antique ice plow. Weigh blocks of ice, use chipping tools and make ice cubes. Hear stories from ice harvesting historians. Try a kicksled, throw a snow snake and watch an ice rescue demonstration by Bloomington Fire and Rescue. Keep warm by a campfire. This is a great event for families, grandparents and all people looking for a unique way to celebrate Minnesota winters. Drop-ins welcome.

Participants ages 11 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
